Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate work breakdown structures and subcontract statements of work.
  • Generate requests for quote and subcontract purchase order requisitions.
  • Review drawings and manufacturing workorders. Coordinate purchasing requirements and identify the availability of needed raw and/or pre‐processed materials.
  • Coordinate with estimators, schedulers, production personnel, purchasing, contracts, and sub‐contracts as required to ensure timely completion of contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and financial position. Develop and submit contractual change orders.
  • Provide customers with project status updates.
  • Assist project and program managers in providing responses to customer inquiries.
  • Update and maintain change order logs.
  • Provide administrative assistance as required.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate professional, morally, and ethically sound behavior not only consistent with company policies but also in keeping with a position requiring access to and the development of sensitive technical and financial data.
• Develop rapport and professional working relationship with both internal and external customers as well as vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other internal and external team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with naval ship new construction, repair, and modernization preferred.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and military and commercial specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The ability to learn and understand company accounting software and related enterprise systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:
• AA/AS plus 3 years of directly related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of directly related experience.
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass and hold various background checks and security clearances.

Physical Demands:

While performing these job duties, employees are routinely required to stand, walk, crawl, sit, kneel, lift, and carry (up to 50 lbs). To use their arms, hands, and fingers to reach and type or write. To use their ears, nose, and mouth to talk, hear and smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
• This position is performed both in a shop and a traditional office environment, with local travel between facilities and project locations. Occasional travel outside of the local area may be required in the development of technical requirements, vendors, suppliers, and/or other team members.
