Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, lead, motivate, task, and monitor as many as two dozen tradesmen and women (helpers, shipfitters, and
welders) for safe and accurate work.
Ensure employee time records are charged accurately and that employees are tasked accordingly.
Ensure employees are productive and monitor labor utilization and allocated budget against schedule.
Arrange and participate in both internal and external quality inspections (AC, Weld & NDT, Preservation, and Source).
Evaluate equipment for safety and functionality. Identify, mitigate, and report potential hazards to personnel.
Prepare requisitions for materials, subcontracts, and rentals (as needed) in support of project development. Coordinate
the receipt and inspection of CFM/GFM.
Initiate and coordinate material and equipment transfer(s) between facilities.
Develop and implement routing and execution approach(s) for work requirements.
Monitor for and resolve technical and schedule issues or conflicts associated with internal or external customers.
Act as Fairlead Structures main customer POC for the Newport News production facility.
Issue disciplinary action(s) and/or reward reports as appropriate.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Must demonstrate professional, morally, and ethically sound behavior consistent with company and customer policies
and ideals. This position may require access to and the development of sensitive technical and financial data.
Develop rapport and professional working relationship with both internal and external team members.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of directly related experience.
Documented U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass and hold various background checks and security clearances.
Direct experience with Newport News Shipbuilding new vessel construction preferred.
Prior NNS/NNSY apprenticeship or other vocational training preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience with naval ship new construction, repair, and modernization.
The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and military and commercial specifications.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and Adobe Acrobat.
The ability to learn and understand company accounting software and related enterprise systems.
Strong business math and verbal and written communication skills

hands and fingers to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to type or write. Employees are also required to
be able to see, talk, hear, and smell. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position is performed in a traditional shop/office environment, with local travel between facilities and project
locations required. Occasional travel outside of the local area may be required in the development of technical
requirements, vendors, suppliers, and other team members
