Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
- Research, evaluate, and select vendors that align with business and compliance requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Ensure vendors meet all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Develop long-term, value-driven partnerships that support Fairlead’s strategic goals.
- Resolve vendor disputes, performance issues, and compliance concerns promptly and effectively.
- Monitor vendor performance using key metrics such as cost, quality, delivery, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending corrective actions and process enhancements when performance falls short.
- Maintain accurate and detailed vendor records in the ERP system, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and scope accuracy.
- Verify vendor records comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as customer and quality standards (AS9100 & ISO9001).
- Conduct regular vendor audits and performance reviews to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Track, monitor, and resolve vendor non-conformance reports and corrective action requests.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Assess and mitigate risks such as supplier dependency and supply chain disruptions.
- Oversee vendor agreements, blanket orders, and automatic renewals.
- Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, renegotiations, and terminations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all vendor agreements and ensure organizational compliance.
- Optimize vendor management outcomes by ensuring best value, reduced risk, and maximum reliability
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the company’s primary point of contact with vendor onboarding and performance.
- Actively supports Supply Chain Managers
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree or AS/AA (education can be substituted for commensurate experience) in supply chain management, logistics, finance, or business administration preferred.
- Prior experience working in a contracting or procurement environment; in- depth understanding of military and commercial specifications, standards and sizes related to materials and equipment preferred.
- Proficiency in MS 365; Experience with an enterprise system (e.g., Costpoint)
Minimum Requirements:
- Industry knowledge (to evaluate vendor capabilities)
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and Government Purchasing System Requirements
- Knowledge of government contracts and contracts management
- Ability to problem-solve & resolve conflicts
- Excellent negotiation skills and solutions oriented
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use judgment in prioritizing work assignments
- Excellent team-oriented and team-building skills; strong customer service attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to perform business math related tasks
- Experience working in a diverse supply chain management / procurement environment encompassing military, government, and commercial customers.
- Intuitive to the needs of various internal departments to include manufacturing, operations, repair, and technical service operations.
Work Environment:
- This position is performed in a traditional office environment, with moderate local travel between facilities.
- Some out-of-area travel may be required.
