Newport News, VA, 7 June 2018 – Fairlead Integrated, a leading supplier of electrical, mechanical, fabricated products, and maritime services announces plans to build a new facility and large fabrication platen in Newport News.

The investments to its Newport News facilities will increase Fairlead Integrated’s fabrication and repair footprint and allow the Hampton Roads-based company to prepare for an increased demand from military customers for large fabrications and vessel repairs. Investments to the waterfront facility include:

  • Fabrication Platen: A 17,000 square-foot platen adjacent to the water will allow for the fabrication and integration of large structures to be shipped via barge for shipbuilding and construction customers.
  • Blast and Paint Facility: A 10,000 square-foot facility housing a 50’-long blast booth and 55’-long spray booth will allow large structures and trailered boats to be preserved.
  • Repair and Fabrication Facility: An 11,200 square-foot facility will allow for the expansion of vessel repairs and light fabrication.

An official groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Friday, 22 June 2018.
