Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be required to install and outfit containers, as well as assemble enclosures from detailed drawings, work instructions and other technical data while working closely with supervision and engineering personnel.
- Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals (high degree of creativity and latitude required)
- Able to interpret symbols and requirements on Customer/Fairlead drawings and execute accordingly. Requires little supervision. (10K to 20K Level Drawings)
- Demonstrate ability to layout and mount electrical components using mechanical drawings and with minimum supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate proficient use of most Basic Mechanical Tools ; Torque Wrenches, Mag Drills, Impact Drills, OH Cranes, Forklifts
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with Planning/Engineering on drawing changes and updates.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with a variety of the mechanical field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of basic mechanical component functionality
- Previous mechanical experience working in a related field
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with other team members and company employees
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 4 years of experience in the field or related field
Physical Demands:
- While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- This position is performed in a shipboard and industrial environment.
