Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementation of a detailed, task level, day to day Safety and Health program, EH&S work processes, standards and With guidance from the Director of EHS Director, ensures all site needs are covered in the program.
- Site subject matter expert resource for related Environmental, Health and Safety information on procedures, guidelines and standards and regulatory permits
- Introduce and drive best practices across
- Site subject matter expert contact for Environmental, Health and Safety audits and
- Coach teams and individuals on Environmental, Health and Safety related tasks and
- Implement, and/or administer Environmental, Health and Safety
- Assist in developing and achieving organization EHS
- Ensure compliance tasks are completed (OSHA, EPA and other federal, state, and local requirements applicable to the site).
- Professionally interface with external parties; including regulators and trade organizations
- Perform the Environmental, Health and Safety monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the
- Facilitate development and review of site Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and practices and ensures alignment with organization policies and standards.
- As required, lead / participate in EHS related reviews, teams and improvement
- Coordinate the schedules for audits in the EHS related
- Conduct audits routinely with strong visibility and engagement with
- As required, conduct and document investigations and classification of incidents and ensure follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences that are addressed.
Qualifications:
- AS degree and 4-years’ experience, a BS degree and 2-years’ experience, or 6-8+ years’ experience with EHS industrial/manufacturing. Shipyard experience preferred
- 3-5 years of EHS manufacturing or related experience required
- ISO 14001 and 45001 experience preferred
- Advanced Certifications Desired: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Respirator Fit Tester, CPR, HAZWOPER, and DOT.
- Preferred Training: NAVSEA 009-07 OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Maritime Industry, 3095; Electrical Standards, 3115; Fall Protection, 521; OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene.
- If NAVSEA approved equivalent, provide documentation demonstrating.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use judgment in prioritizing work assignments.
- Excellent team-oriented and team-building skills; strong customer service attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; must have technical writing skills or be willing to acquire them.
Work Environment:
Must be able to climb, bend, lift a maximum of 50 lbs., stand for extended periods of time, work in adverse weather conditions, and work in cramped enclosed spaces.
