Job Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring qualified talent with a strong focus on skilled trades and operational roles. This position partners closely with hiring managers, front-line supervisors, and cross-functional teams to understand workforce needs and deliver timely, high-quality hiring outcomes. The Recruiter will develop and execute recruiting strategies that support business goals while ensuring a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts with a primary focus on skilled trades and hard-to-fill operational roles.
- Partner closely with hiring managers, supervisors, and HR colleagues to understand workforce needs, job requirements, and team dynamics.
- Develop and maintain detailed, accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria in collaboration with operational leaders.
- Identify and implement effective sourcing strategies, including outreach to trade schools, military transition programs, community partners, and industry-specific pipelines.
- Post and manage job advertisements across appropriate platforms to attract qualified skilled trades candidates.
- Conduct resume reviews and phone screens to assess technical qualifications, work history, and cultural/team fit.
- Coordinate and participate in interviews with hiring managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the selection process, including interview preparation and evaluation best practices.
- Collaborate with HR and hiring leaders during the offer process, including recommendations related to compensation, start dates, and hiring logistics.
- Ensure open positions are filled efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the recruiting process.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, skilled trades events, and community recruiting initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative, service-oriented recruiting approach that strengthens relationships with internal partners and candidates alike.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong ability to build working relationships with front-line supervisors, managers, and HR partners.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for skilled trades or technical roles preferred.
- High level of customer service with a team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Ability to develop and execute creative sourcing strategies for a variety of roles.
- Proactive, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and recruiting best practices.
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn applicant tracking systems and recruitment technology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or Human Resources strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing full-cycle recruiting strongly preferred.
- Prior experience recruiting skilled trades or technical roles is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
