Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision of the shipping and receiving clerk and administrative support staff assigned to the warehouse.
- Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
- Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
- Coordinates final shipment.
- Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
- Interfaces with Project, Planning and Production teams.
- Manages customer furnished and completed materials.
- Provide appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
- Research material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.
- Monitor the unloading of all materials into the Receiving Department.
- Ensure materials are staged for counting and inspection.
- Ensure receiving reports accurately report material received. Resolves discrepancies with Accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Monitor the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry.
- Oversee the movement of material from Receiving to the Warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Oversee the supplying of materials to Fabrication and stages material for Assembly and Sub-Assembly.
- Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
- Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
- Monitor and measure Receiving and Warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting movement and storage of material, and transfers to Service Parts.
- Develop and recommend annual budget requirements for the Warehouse and Receiving Department.
Qualifications:
- Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations.
- Knowledge of Bar Code Technology and Electronic Data Interchange a plus. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with other team members and company employees.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment with two years Supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Receiving, Warehouse, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a driver or delivery person, with strong knowledge of the local area and routes where expected to drive.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have an excellent motor vehicle record.
Physical Demands:
- While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- This position is performed in a manufacturing environment, with some local travel between facilities.
