Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory, control and coordinate the transfer of government owned materials.
- Execute and maintain material control documentation and files up to and including virtual logs in excel, teams, and Costpoint.
- Execute and maintain accurate transaction records for the issuance of material to the production team at request.
- Assure compliance with company tool room policies.
- Responsible for the loading and unloading of materials within a warehouse or storage facility and inspect all materials and equipment received and verify correctness of shipment against purchase orders, packing slips and other shipping documents, Certificates of Compliance, or other validating information.
- Performs receipts of purchased & customer provided materials into Fairlead’s MRP system.
- Inspect all shipments received for damage and document same; report damage to the appropriate parties.
- Document and track the transfer of materials and equipment between locations; assure transferred items are properly packaged and handled.
- Assure all material and equipment tagging requirements are executed and maintained.
- Submitting of purchasing requisitions for various items, both overhead and project material.
- Coordinates the transfer of raw materials, parts and finished products between various production areas and external warehouses.
- Resolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Maintains long-term storage of finished product from the Production team.
- Scheduling of deliveries with customers, project managers, Subcontract Shipping & Off-site shipping.
- Extensive knowledge of department processes.
- Submittal of RFs.
- Provide training on all departmental processes and procedures.
- Schedule and Assign inventory assignments monthly to keep pace with required cycle counts, and monthly overhead counts.
- Supervises subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and maintains time records in SFT.
- Plans and monitors optimal space utilization and efficient inventory flow.
Qualifications:
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of marine and industrial materials, equipment and tools for purposes of accurate identification.
- Able to learn and effectively use company cost accounting and tool tracking software.
- Able to utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks within the storage facility.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in material control position or related field.
- Preferred supervisory experience 1 year.

- While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- This position is performed in a manufacturing environment, with some local travel between facilities.
