Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain technical proficiency by performing technical integration builds (approx 50% of the work week)
  • Lead daily activities of a small team (approx. 50% of the work week)
  • Assign tasks, track team progress, and communicate task completion to leadership
  • Report schedule progress, as required
  • Work with leadership to set employee performance goals and monitor individual performance
  • Train new hires, provide continuous coaching and mentorship, and close technical gaps within assigned team
  • Assist with workforce planning and resource allocation
  • Assist in the development and review of work instructions
  • Troubleshoot technical integration issues, when required
  • Communicate material issues to Production Control
  • Communicate tool and consumable needs to the Supervisor
  • Conduct a Material Review Board (MRB) of completed builds and submit inspection requests to Quality
  • Address emergent work/rework in a timely manner
  • Conduct technical reviews and lessons learned with assigned team members, as required
  • Approve timecards weekly
  • Ensuring that employees adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and other workplace standards

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in candidate interviews for new team members
  • Perform annual evaluations for input into employee reviews
  • Ensure shop safety issues, report near misses, and safety incidents, as required

Qualifications

  • Must have technical proficiency as a 1st Class or Specialist in Electrical or Mechanical Integration disciplines
  • Extensive familiarity with a variety of electrical and mechanical assembly field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of component functionality
  • Adept in troubleshooting electrical control panel problems
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of experience in the field or related field
  • Working knowledge of Fairlead Systems production and quality processes

Physical Demands:

While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • This position is performed in a shipboard and industrial environment.
