Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facility Security Officer with overall security duties
  • This role requires assuming responsibilities and decision-making authority in the absence of the FSO
  • Assist and coordinate the badging of Fairlead employees in accordance with badge requirements for various projects
  • Update and maintain files of employee badge and access authorizations information
  • Submit access requests for the correct facilities and/or vessels for employees, based on contracted work
  • Create and print subcontractor badges for Fairlead projects
  • Maintain contact and records of all security guards
  • Train all new armed security officers on Fairlead Post Orders
  • Implements security strategies, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization’s facilities and the security of property and assets
  • Monitors and inspects systems, alarms, and other physical security measures
  • Participates in education programs and contributes to communications on security policies and topics to ensure employees are adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues
  • Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures
  • Assists FSO with the implementation and maintenance of classified security programs and protocols in accordance with all relevant government standards and regulations for the management of classified information and materials
  • Establish plans of action to identify and address potential weaknesses or risks
  • Briefs and trains personnel on proper security procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate security incidents and their potential harm to the program
  • Must be knowledgeable on NAVSEA Standard Item 009-72, 32 CFR Part 117- National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) , Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) and 33 CFR Part 101- Maritime Security

Qualifications:

  • Must possess knowledge of personnel, industrial, maritime and physical security
  • Must have experience in exercising a leadership role
  • Must be dependable, ethical, and team oriented
  • Must be organized and have keen attention to detail
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Must be a clear verbal communicator and well versed in written communications
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government badging for contract work (i.e., DBIDS, NAVSEA Badge, & TWIC,)
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance
  • Must have an excellent driving record

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Abide by all safety rules, company, and shipyard practices.

Work Environment:

This position is performed primarily in a traditional office environment, with some work requirements in an outdoors environment, as well as working at various properties which requires vehicular travel between facilities. Occasional visits to the shipyard and other properties will require the wearing of a hard hat, steel toe boots, and safety glasses.
